Fitch highlights 'risks' from end to Monti govt

(ANSA) - Rome, August 21 - Ratings agency Fitch on Tuesday highlighted the high credibility of Italian Premier Mario Monti's government and the risks to Italy's prospects when it ends its term next year. "The present Italian government has a very great deal of credibility," Fitch's head of sovereign ratings, David Riley, told Bloomberg TV. Riley urged Monti to enact reforms as swiftly as possible to "create some light at the end of the tunnel" amid the euro crisis affecting Italy. He said the risks attached to the end of Monti's tenure in spring 2013 were "greater than the problems of the economy".
