Police capture a 'most wanted' camorra crime boss

(ANSA) - Salerno, August 17 - Italian police on Friday captured a top fugitive Camorra crime boss wanted for murder. Known as 'The Beast', Francesco Matrone, 65, had been on the run for five years and was on the interior ministry's list of nine most-dangerous fugitives, evading two life sentences for a double homicide. He was head of the Matrone crime family. This was not his first time on the run. Matrone briefly escaped custody in 2004 before being caught hiding out with the owner of a kennel pretending to be a dog lover.
