(ANSA) - Rome, August 9 - Two men died late on Wednesday in a car crash after the driver lost control of the vehicle during a practice run for a rally on Sunday. Francesco Cascone, 27, and Vittorio Canestraro, 52, were travelling in their Renault Clio on a track in preparation for the race in Santopadre, some 80 km southeast of Rome, when their car slipped off the road and crashed in a gorge. The accident happened around 23:00 local time. According to the police, the car rolled over twice before stopping, killing the driver and navigator on the spot. The rally on Sunday may be cancelled following the accident.
