Soccer: Milan suffer alarming 5-1 drubbing from Real Madrid

(ANSA) - Rome, August 9 - AC Milan suffered an alarming 5-1 defeat to Real Madrid in a friendly played at New York's Yankee Stadium late on Wednesday. Brazil forward Robinho equalised for Milan in the 33rd minute after Angel di Maria had put the Spanish giants in front. But Real romped home in the second half with a double by Cristiano Ronaldo and late goals from Sergio Ramos and Jose Callejon. The defeat is likely to heighten Milan fans' concerns about the club's transfer policy after they sold their two best players, Brazil defender Thiago Silva and Sweden forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to Paris Saint-Germain.
