Italian policeman kidnapped in Yemen returns home

(ANSA) - Rome, August 3 - The Italian policeman kidnapped in Yemen's capital city of Sana'a returned to Italy on Friday following his release by a local tribe after being taken hostage on Sunday. Carabinieri officer Alexander Spadotto, 29, was providing security at Italy's embassy in Sana'a. Over 200 people have been kidnapped in the past 15 years in Yemen.
