Spread at 465, Milan bourse positive

(ANSA) - Milan, July 31 - The spread between Italian 10-year bonds and the German benchmark bund was hovering around 465 points in midday trading on Tuesday after closing at the same number on Monday. The yield, an important indicator of investor confidence in Italy's ability to weather the euro crisis, was at 5.99% after dipping slightly further below the 6% mark in early trading. But good news on stable inflation numbers from Italian statistics agency Istat kept the Milan bourse positive, up 0.62%. Markets across Europe have been performing well since European Central Bank President Mario Draghi announced last week that the BCE would do whatever it takes to save the single currency.
