Monti - 'nervousness' has little to do with Italy's problems

(ANSA) - Sochi, July 23 - Nervousness on the European markets has little to do with Italy's "specific problems," Italian Premier Mario Monti said on Monday during a visit to the Black Sea residence of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Monti attributed wide spread teeth-gnashing over eurozone markets, especially in recent days, to "news, rumors and statements" about the decisions taken by the EU summit late June that should "be implemented swiftly and without much ado". The premier also said that emergency summits were not necessary as "important forward steps" had been made at the previous meeting.
