Peg Perego strollers recalled in US for strangulation risk

(ANSA) - New York, July 25 - The US branch of Italian children's accessories makers Peg Perego launched a recall of 220,000 strollers on Tuesday for risk of strangulation. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission announced that owners should immediately "cease the use of the recalled product and contact the company for a free repair or replacement". In 2004 a six-month-old child died of strangulation after slipping down and getting caught in the safety belts of one of the strollers, and another seven-month-old infant was injured in 2006. The recalled models are older versions of the 'Venezia and Pliko-P3' sold in the US between 2004 to 2010.
