Tod's owner considering new Rome projects after Colosseum

Rome, September 13 - Diego Della Valle, the owner of the Tod's shoe group, has some new surprises in store for Rome after financing the restoration of the Colosseum, Mayor Ignazio Marino said Friday. "Della Valle described his vision of philanthropy to me and he'll illustrate it in the coming weeks," Marino said following a meeting with the businessman on Thursday. "He say what, but there'll be some positive events for the city". Marino said he approves of businesses investing in a country's cultural heritage. "I absolutely agree with the idea that national and international entrepreneurs who have an interest in art, culture and archeology and urban planning, and want to invest in an amazing city like Rome, should do so," said the mayor. A legal row around the Colosseum restoration funding from Della Valle ended during the summer and restoration work is expected to begin later this month.
