Pope says badmouthing has 'criminal dimension'

Rome, September 13 - Pope Francis scolded those who speak badly of others, saying they were hypocrites that "didn't have the courage to look at their own defects" during a Mass held at the Santa Marta residence in Rome on Friday. The Pontiff said that badmouthing another person had a "criminal dimension" to it, since every time a person speaks badly of this brothers it is as if he were imitating the homicide of Abel by his brother Cain.
