Leonardo's mechanical genius on display

Milan, September 10 - Examples of the technical and mechanical genius of Leonardo da Vinci are on display at Milan's historic Biblioteca Ambrosiana in an exhibition on through December 8. The show includes 44 sketches from Leonardo's Codice Atlantico (Atlantic Code) collection, involving inventions and projects of the Renaissance man. Curated by Matthew Landrus from the University of Oxford and Pietro Cesare Marani of Milan's Politecnico institution, the exhibition includes a wide range of machines invented by Leonardo - from rotisserie devices to specialized mirrors. Among other things, the show will demonstrate that many of the inventions could actually have worked, said Marani.
