Turin, September 9 - Prosecutors have requested a teacher accused of allegedly having sexual relations with female students in a school located in a town in northern Italy undergo a psychological profiling process. Valter Giordano, who taught at the Soleri high school in Saluzzo, Cuneo, was arrested on August 21 for allegedly having sexual relationships with his students. The man's defence lawyers, Enrico Gaveglio and Antonello Portera, will appoint their own consultant to follow the proceedings. Giordano is current under house arrest after having been taken in custody on August 21. A group of pupils and colleagues have made public defence statements in favour of Giordano. One of his colleagues said he believed the charges were fabricated.
