Police in Naples seize taxis and ambulances in inspections

Naples, September 9 - Police in the southern Italian city of Naples confiscated 18 taxis on Monday for lack of insurance following several days of checks on the city's cab drivers. Police also cited four taxi drivers with expired drivers licenses and two with falsified insurance papers. Two ambulances lacking proper insurance were confiscated while six rescue vehicles were found to have fake insurance policies. Several of the taxi drivers purchased the insurance in good faith and seven fraudulent insurance brokers have also been cited, police said.
