Thieves take 2,500 kg of copper from Enel

Brindisi, September 6 - Police were scratching their heads Friday, trying to understand how thieves managed to evade the security system at a major utility installation and steal 2,500 kilograms of copper. The theft at Enel's Cerano plant near Brindisi occurred sometime Thursday night, when thieves created a hole in the fence. But it remains a mystery how the thieves got in and out again with that much copper wire without triggering security alarms.
