Malfatti reappointed secretary-general at IILA

Rome, September 5 - Giorgio Malfatti was re-appointed as secretary-general of the Rome-based Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA) Thursday. Foreign Undersecretary Mario Giro outlined topics for the sixth National Conference on relations between Italy, Latin America and Caribbean, scheduled for Rome in mid-December, during a meeting with IILA's Council of Delegates. An intergovernmental organization founded in Rome in 1966, the Institute collaborates with Italy's foreign ministry and is involved in cultural, scientific and development cooperation. The 20 members of the organization range from Argentina and Brazil to Peru, Cuba, Guatemala and Haiti.
