Italian gay groups protest 'silence' on Russia laws

Bologna, September 2 - Italian gay group Arcigay on Monday asked the government to break its "silence" on Russia's new anti-gay laws. "Despite the numerous stances taken on this issue all over the world, Italy's institutional representatives stand by in silence and do not grasp the scope of this dangerous slide towards barbarism," said Arcigay head Flavio Romani. Romani said Italy's gay associations would take part this week in the global campaign #Russia4Love and a global kiss-in, ToRussiaWithLove, starting Tuesday in Bologna, Naples and Milan.
