Rome, September 2 - Players and staff from Verona's Serie A soccer club who spent the night in Rome after their bus was damaged following Sunday's match left by train Monday to return to their northern city. Following a 3-0 defeat by Roma in the capital, the windscreen of the bus travelling on the city's 'tangenziale' freeway was struck by a heavy stone launched from an overpass, police said. Some 30 Verona team members and staff were forced to abandon the vehicle under police escort and once it was confirmed that there were no injuries, the group was lodged in a hotel in the city. No other incidents were reported.
