Clothing group allegedly dodged 30 million in taxes

(ANSA) - Reggio Calabria, July 24 - The family-run clothing group Marino in the southern region of Calabria is being probed for more than 30 million euros in tax evasion, investigators said on Tuesday. Three prestigious boutiques owned by the parent company located in the city of Reggio Calabria's elite shopping district allegedly dodged taxes by declaring zero revenues despite the constant the flow of customers, investigators said. Italy is in first place in the world when it comes to the size of its underground economy in relation to gross domestic product, retailers association Confcommercio in a report last week.
