(ANSA) - Rome, July 26 - Italian gambling giant Lottomatica closed the first two quarters of 2012 with net profits up 78.4% to 121.5 million euros, the company announced Thursday. Second-quarter net profits were up 38.3%, 63.8 million euros, over the same period last year. Revenue over the first two quarters was up 8.4% to 1.52 billion euros. "These are good quarter results that show the livelihood and sustainability of our business," said CEO Marco Sala. Lottomatica is the world's largest operator of lotteries.
