Varese, August 27 - Eight trucks began circulating on Tuesday throughout the area between the northern cities of Milan and Varese plastered with wanted posters of a man believed to have killed a jewelry shop owner August 3 and offering a reward for his capture. Gold dealers from the area are sponsoring the initiative, including the owner of a gold shop, Mirko Rosa, who is offering the 50,000-euro reward. Three photos of the suspect taken from the shop's surveillance camera where 62-year-old Maria Angela Granomelli was brutally beaten and murdered are displayed on the trucks with the caption "wanted for the murder...50,000 euros for the assassin's capture". The murderer allegedly perused the shop for 40 minutes before turning on Granomelli, striking her in the head with a metal strong box then beating and kicking her to death. Police from the nearby city of Busto Arsizio are investigating.
