(ANSA) - Isernia, July 23 - Dogs in the southern Italian town of Cerro al Volturno near Isernia are forbidden from barking from 1 pm to 4 pm, and 9 pm to 8.30 am according to a city ordinance passed on Monday. Owners of the canines caught yipping or yapping outside the permitted barking times face a fine ranging from 25 to 500 euros. The six-page ordinance also states that dogs are forbidden from entering public parks, gardens and all playground areas. In conclusion, leads cannot be longer than one and a half meters. City Mayor Vincenzo Iannarelli is the author of the ordinance.
