Bank of Italy chief sees recovery signs

Rimini, August 23 - The director-general of Italy's central bank said Friday he sees signs of recovery from the country's worst recession in decades. "Even in Italy there are the first signs of a slow economic recovery, or at least of an end to the plunge, visible through various indicators," said Salvatore Rossi. "The damage from the crisis has been worse in Italy than other countries. That's also why recovery is more difficult".
