Piper disco founder Bornigia dies in Rome of heart attack

Rome, August 22 - The founder of one of Rome's best-known night clubs, the Piper, died of a heart attack in the night between Thursday and Friday at the Policlinico Umberto I hospital in Rome. Giancarlo Bornigia, who was one of the founders of the establishment that in its heyday attracted international stars like Jimmy Hendrix and Pink Floyd, had been admitted to the hospital two days ago due to heart problems. His funeral is to be held at the Santa Chiara church at Piazza dei Giochi Delfici in Rome on August 26. He would have turned 83 on September 29.
