Soccer: Russia have 'great potential' says new boss Capello

(ANSA) - Moscow, July 26 - Fabio Capello announced on Thursday that he is officially the new coach of Russian. The Italian told a news conference that he had signed a two-year contract and his aim was to steer the national team to qualification for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. "I'm proud. This national team has great potential," he said. Former AC Milan, AS Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid boss Capello, 65, had been out of work since resigning as England manager in February in protest at the Football Association's decision to strip the national team captaincy from John Terry.
