Spain: Spanish aid worker allegedly freed by kidnappers

Ainhoa Fernandez de Rincon is free, Ansar al-Din said

(ANSAMed) - MADRID, JULY 18 - Spanish international aid worker Ainhoa Fernandez de Rincon, who was kidnapped by the terrorist group Movement for Unity and Jihad in West Africa, has been released, Sanda Uld Buana, a spokesperson for Salafi jihadist group Ansar al-Din, told EFE news agency on Wednesday. Fernandez de Rincon was kidnapped last October 23, along with Enric Ganyalons and Italian aid worker Rossella Urru, from the Hassi Rabuni refugee camp in the Algerian desert. They were taken by armed men who arrived in a jeep, possibly from northern Mali, which is an Ansar al-Din stronghold. There is no official confirmation of the release, nor information on the whereabouts of the other kidnapped aid workers. (ANSAMed).
