Non-EU immigrants residing in Italy increased since 2011

(ANSA) - Rome, July 25 - The number of immigrants from outside the EU living and working legally in the country has risen by 120,000 since 2011, the national statistics agency Istat reported on Wednesday. Figures from January 2012 showed that 3,637,724 non-EU citizens, 23% of whom are minors, are employed or attend schools throughout the country. The best represented nationalities include Morocco (506,369), Albania (491,495), China (277,570), Ukraine (223,782) and The Philippines (152,382).
