Verona, August 12 - A woman's body was found in her former boyfriend's car boot Monday in the latest in a wave of killings the Italian media calls 'femicides'. Wellness centre worker Lucia Bellucci, 31, reported top Verona lawyer Vittorio Ciccolini, 44, for stalking after their two-year relationship ended, police said. Ciccolini killed Bellucci and put her body in the car near a northern Italian restaurant where they met Friday, police said. Ciccolini left notes saying he was sorry for the murder, they added. Earlier this month the Italian government responded to calls to stem the 'femicide' epidemic with a decree aimed at punishing, preventing and protecting women from violence.
