Woman attacked with acid in Genoa hospital

Genoa, August 12 - A 46-year-old hospital clerk was being treated for serious burns to her face, arms, and an eye after she was attacked with acid Monday. Police said someone threw acid in the woman's face inside the Galliera hospital in Genoa. It is believed the attacker was waiting for the woman, who was rushed to a special eye clinic in San Martino hospital for treatment for deep burns to the retina of one eye. "I heard terrible screams, I ran and I saw my colleague," a co-worker said. The victim told police her attacker's face was covered and she could not identify who it was. Co-workers said the victim is divorced and has two children.
