Strong sales in Asia lift Prada's earnings

Milan, August 8 - Despite global economic uncertainty, luxury fashion house Prada reported a jump of more than 11% in revenues in the first half of this year, the company announced Thursday. Consolidated revenues totalled almost 1.73 billion euro, an increase of 11.6% when compared to the same period in 2012. Much of those sales came from stores in the Asia Pacific, which reported a 17% increase in sales, valued at about 1.42 billion euros. In the United States sales rose by 13% compared with a 5% increase in Europe. Full results are to be announced next month, the company said.
