Turin, August 7 - Investigators said Wednesday that they are considering murder a possibility in the death of a woman who disappeared 35-year ago and whose charred remains were just identified. Loretta Rossati was 22 when she disappeared in December 1978. Now, a DNA test has confirmed that it was her charred body found in January 1979 in the woods near Augsburg, Germany, where she had gone a few weeks earlier. The prosecutor of Turin is considering whether her death was murder, and the woman's former boyfriend is the only suspect at present. Police say the case was "long and complex" in identifying Rossati's body.
