Bomb alarm over at American consulate in Milan

Milan, August 6 - A bomb alarm Tuesday at the United States' consulate in Milan ended quickly after officials said there was no threat. Things were returning to normal about an hour after the alarm was raised due to a threat that came in a letter delivered to the consulate. Authorities said the letter was filled with threatening phrases referring to explosives. That triggered special safety procedures including a preventative evacuation of the consulate. A nearby subway line was closed for a period while police investigated the threat but was later re-opened.
