Italian tax revenues up 3.1% in first half of 2013

Rome, August 5 - Tax revenues in recession-hit Italy amounted to 197.029 billion euros in the first half of 2013, up 5.898 billion, or 3.1%, on the same period in 2012, the Economy Ministry said Monday. The ministry said 3.655 billion euros of the money was raised via audits and checks targeting tax evasion, an increase of 329 million euros, or 9.9%, on the January-June period last year.
