Twister rips roofs off a dozen homes in northern Italy

Bergamo, July 30 - Residents outside the northern city of Bergamo were surveying damage Tuesday after an overnight tornado tore through the area. In the town of Gerosa, the twister ripped the roofs off of 12 homes in the course of a few seconds. Locals said it was the first time they had seen such a disaster in 50 years. In addition to homes in the rural area, damaged property included a large apiary.
