Letta says Expo 2015 not possible without Greece

Rome, July 29 - Without Greece, Milan's Expo 2015 would not be possible, Premier Enrico Letta said Monday in Athens. ''I would say that if Greece was not there, we would not have had Expo,'' in 2015 in Milan, Letta said after meetings with Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras. Letta added that he felt ''deep gratitude'' that Greece will join more than 130 countries in participating in the world's fair in Italy's business capital in 2015. ''It's a sign of very strong friendship,'' said Letta. Expo 2015, which runs May 1 until October 31 that year, is expected to attract over 20 million visitors. Preparations on a 1.1-million-square-meter site have been underway for some time.
