(ANSA) – Rome, July 26 – Italy is expected to be overwhelmed by a heat wave during the upcoming weekend, with average temperatures spiking to 38 degrees centigrade amid heightened humidity and a lull in winds, weather experts warned on Friday. The forecast sees temperatures starting to drop only on Tuesday, and Sardinia is expected to bear the brunt of the highest ones during the course of the next three days since the tropical air blowing up from Africa is expected to cross it before arriving to the mainland. Another heat wave is forecast for the weekend of August 3 and August 4.
