Woman confirms Italian man on train that derailed

Santiago de Compostela, July 26 - A friend of the 25-year-old Italian man who is believed to be among 80 victims of this week's rail disaster in Spain said on Friday that she was certain he was on the train. A Ukrainian woman told authorities that she had been in contact with Dario Lombardo by phone while he was travelling on the high-speed train before it derailed at a bend in the tracks some three kilometers from Santiago de Composte on Wednesday. Lombardo, a native of Forza d'Agrò in the province of Messina, lived in Germany with his parents. DNA tests to confirm the identity are due to take place on Friday.
