French politician claims Hitler didn't kill enough Roma

Uproar in France over politician's statements

(ANSA) – Paris, July 22 – Adolf Hitler did not kill enough Roma, according to a French politician who triggered a firestorm of outrage Monday with his reported remarks. "Maybe Hitler had not killed enough," Gilles Bourdouleix, a member of the National Assembly for the centrist UDI, reportedly told media Sunday after seeing a camp of Roma, sometimes referred to as Gypsies. Some in his party are now calling for his expulsion. Bourdouleix is a former mayor of the city of Cholet, where he saw the Roma camped nearby.
