Venice launches clean-up of dead fish on canals' surfaces

Venice, July 22 - Venice has launched a large-scale clean-up of dead fish floating on the surface of canals. Scientists believe the fish are dying in parts of the lagoon where oxygen levels are particularly low, spawning large amounts of algae. Residents have complained for days about the phenomenon's implications, among them its stench.
