Judge arrested in corruption probe

Rome, July 22 - A judge and a former bank president were among seven people arrested Monday for alleged judicial corruption. Franco Angelo Maria De Bernardi, a justice with the Lazio regional administrative court (TAR), is accused of issuing "ad hoc sentences" in exchange for money. The others arrested included former head of the Banca Popolare di Spoleto bank Giovannino Antonini, two navy officers, a lawyer and a businessman, police said.
