Autopsy shows young brothers dead before fire

No smoke in lungs, police suspect boys poisoned

(ANSA) – Brescia, July 17 - An autopsy found no traces of smoke Wednesday in the lungs of two young brothers found dead in their family's burned out home. Police say Andrea and Davide Iacovone, aged 9 and 12, must have been dead before the fire began that destroyed their father's home in the northern town of Ono San Pietro in Vallemonico. Authorities suspect the boys may have been poisoned. Their father, Pasquale Iacovone, is critically injured with burns over 90% of his body. The children's mother had repeatedly reported Iacovone to the police for stalking. The man had threatened to kill his sons as a revenge on their mother who left him four years ago.
