Pope ups penalties for crimes against kids at Vatican

Vatican City, July 11 - Pope Francis has increased penalties inside Vatican City for crimes against minors and starting in September will abolish life imprisonment. Penalties for crimes against minors include child prostitution, sexual violence, sexual acts, producing child pornography and keeping child pornography. The penalties also apply to offices of the Roman Curia, which is the executive body of the Vatican. The move to abolish life imprisonment was partially made possible by a papal decree.
