Pavia, July 9 - A woman near the northern city of Pavia is dead after being stabbed numerous times by her husband while their small child was in the house, police said on Tuesday. Tiziana Rizzi, 36, was killed by Marco Malabarba, 39, after a fight reportedly broke out between the two. An ambulance crew that was called at 5:52 am by family members said that they were unable to revive Rizzi, who had been stabbed in the neck. A rising number of violent attacks against women in Italy has triggered a national outcry against 'femicide'. Data released in November by the Italian emergency hotline Telefono Rosa said that violence against women in relationships represents the most common form, 85%, of violence experienced by women.
