Italian pop star Baglioni gives pope a hat

(see related) Rome, July 8 - Italian pop star Claudio Baglioni on Monday gave Pope Francis a gift of a hat with a traditional greeting from the local dialect of the island of Lampedusa. "O'Scia'", which translates to "my breath", was printed on the front of the cap, a reference to a music festival Baglioni organizes every year in Lampedusa to draw attention to the plight of migrants who routinely risk their lives getting there by crossing the Mediterranean from North Africa. Baglioni gave the gift to Francis in a private meeting after the pontiff celebrated Mass on the island and greeted onlookers by saying o'scia', which was warmly received.
