Rome bar near premier's office seized from 'Ndrangheta

Rome, July 8 - Italian police on Monday seized 20 million euros in assets from a top Calabrian 'Ndrangheta mafia clan including a storied cafe' near the Italian premier's office in Rome, the Antico Caffe' Chigi. Ownership of the well-known politicians' watering hole in Piazza Chigi is now in legal hands, anti-mafia prosecutors said. The clan's stakes in 18 companies were frozen. Prosecutors said the Gallico clan of Reggio Calabria had been in a vicious blood feud with their rivals the Condellos for many years.
