(see previous) Lampedusa, July 8 - Pope Francis on Monday asked God to forgive human indifference shown to immigrants who have died at sea. The pontiff is on a visit to the southern Italian island of Lampedusa, where hundreds of people have flocked in boats from the north African coast in recent weeks - sometimes at the cost of their lives - seeking passage to Italy and Europe. ''We ask God for the grace of mourning over our indifference, over the cruelty in this world, in ourselves, and also in those who anonymously make socio-economic decisions that open the path to tragedies like this. Who has cried?'' asked the pope.
