Police suspect wildcat publicity stunt

Three stopped for parachute-landing in Milan's Piazza Duomo

Milan, July 4 - Milan police stopped three people after a parachutist landed in front of Milan's landmark gothic cathedral, the Duomo, at dawn on Thursday. Investigators believe the parachute-landing in the city's main square, Piazza Duomo, may have been a publicity stunt. The three people, all ages 30 to 35, are believed to belong to an extreme-sports association, and a sports-clothing brand was advertised on the wing of the directional parachute. The people in question were equipped with still and video cameras, while a webcam was mounted on the helmet of the parachutist. Police also suspect that one of three camped inside the cathedral from the evening before.
