Letta meets with Pope Francis for first time

Rome, July 4 - Following Thursday's government meetings, Italian Premier Enrico Letta met with Pope Francis starting at 11 am Italian time in a private audience at the Vatican. It is their first meeting since they assumed their respective offices this year, Francis in March and Letta in April. After the meeting the premier will meet with Vatican Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone.
