Soccer: Cassano poised to join Parma

Rome, July 3 - Tempestuous forward Antonio Cassano is poised to move from Inter Milan to Parma as part of a deal that will see 21-year-old Algerian striker Ishak Belfodil going in the opposite direction. Cassano, 30, is considered one of the most talented players of his generation but his career has been dogged by disciplinary problems and bust-ups with coaches and he has won relatively few trophies for a footballer of his potential. Last season he scored 10 goals in all competitions for Inter, whom he joined from city rivals AC Milan a year ago. Cassano's agent Beppe Bozzo has said the transfer to Parma is likely to be sealed by Thursday. The forward has not played for Italy since helping them reach the final of Euro 2012. Coach Cesare Prandelli has said he is looking to younger players at the moment, while stressing that Cassano could be recalled before next year's World Cup. Cassano has also played for Sampdoria, Real Madrid, AS Roma and his home town club Bari.
