Yield on Italian zero-coupon bonds highest since Sept 2012

Rome, June 25 - The Italian treasury on Tuesday allocated its entire 3.5-billion-euro 24-month zero-coupon bond (CTZ) issue, but at the highest yields since September 2012. Tuesday's bids saw CTZ yields climb to 2.403%, up from 1.113% at the last issue in May. In the wake of the CTZ auction, the spread between Italian and German 10-year bond interest rates broke the 300-basis-point threshold again on Tuesday, reaching 302. The yield on Italian paper was 4.78%. The spread between Spanish 10-year bonds and the German benchmark was 325 basis points. The yield on the Spanish bonos rose to 5%.
