Rome, June 21 - Another Senator in the troubled 5-Star Movement (M5S) left the anti-establishment party Monday in a widening rift. "I no longer feel at ease, the atmosphere is unbreathable," Senator Adriano Zaccagnini said. "I no longer have the strength to continue to fight a senseless war," Zaccagnini said, announcing he would join the so-called "Mixed Group" of independents and tiny parties in parliament. On Friday, another Senate member, Paola De Pin, left the party in solidarity with Senator Adele Gambaro who was ejected last week after an online vote was called by Grillo. "After much painful reflection, I announce my exit from the 5-Star Movement," said De Pin, voicing her "full solidarity with Adele Gambaro" and disapproval of her "pillory before the media". Gambaro was booted from the party for criticizing M5S founder and leader Beppe Grillo, calling him "a problem for the movement" after the bloc's poor showing at local elections across Italy.
